Carter @ 3 Months

I cannot believe my little baby is 3 months old today! I feel like I have been his Mommy for so long and yet its going by so fast. He is probably the happiest little baby ever. A little about his development:

  • He pretty much follows us everywhere with his eyes. His favorite person to follow is Mavrick. I will prop him on the sofa and he will just follow Mavrick with his eyes and smile and coo. Its so cute.
  • He is about 14 lbs 8 oz and 24 inches long and a complete chunk! I love it. His thighs are so squishy and cute.
  • Carter loves attention. He doesn't crave it but when he gets some his eyes just light right up and he rewards you with smiles, coos, and lots of excited movements.
  • He is rolling over. Kinda. He rolled over about 2 weeks ago about 8 times in a row and since then has only done it once or twice.
  • He is teething I think. Mav never really teethed but this little guy is drooling like crazy and his chubby little hands are always clasped together and in his mouth. Luckily he is not fussy though.
  • He loves to stick out his tongue and mimic you sticking out yours.
  • He coos when you talk to him. Its the cutest thing ever!
  • He still sleeps about 7 hours through the night which makes for one happy Momma! He sleeps in his crib for the most part but sometimes ends up with me. I don't mind too much though. I know it won't last forever so we are enjoying it while he is little.
  • He loves his brother Mav (except when Mav pinches his cheeks too hard) and Mav will put his arm around him and Carter will start smiling and cooing. Sibling love, even at a young age, might be the best thing a Mom can witness. =)
  • He likes - not loves - tummy time.
  • He sometimes sleeps on his tummy, especially when someone is holding him.
  • He is sitting up really well. He is arching his back and can hold his head up on his own now. So I think he will start sitting up in the next month or so. Santa is bringing him a "BebePod" for Christmas. He loves it already.
  • He eats every 3 to 3 1/2 hours still and takes about 5 naps a day.
  • His wake time is from about 8 - 10:30 which is his pretty long stretch but we like it cause its right after Mav USUALLY goes to bed so we get some one on one time with our little Carter.
All in all this baby couldn't make us any happier. Besides blowing out and not being very good at holding the pacifire in his mouth we have no complaints. Here are some pictures of the little guy and since I missed his 2 month post the first few are of that.

Carter @ 1 Month Old

Carter is 1 month old and I can't even believe it. He is getting so chubby and I am pretty sure has put on like 3 lbs already. No positive though. What he is up too...

  • He lost his umbilical cord on Wednesday Night - Sept. 26, 2012
  • He eats about every 3 hours right now.
  • During the night he usually has a stretch of sleep that is about 5 hours which I am grateful for. We can totally get to 8 in the next month! =)
  • He still sleeps a ton which I am grateful for.
  • He has a natural little mohawk going on usually which is super cute. I kinda brushed it up a little for the pictures below  but not much.
  • He is pretty much out of his newborn clothes already and wearing 0-3 months.
  • He grunts like CRAZY! Its kinda funny...Mavrick never grunted that much.
  • He can pretty much hold his head up on his own now. He is still a little wobbliy but doing great.
  • He likes to sleep on his stomach and side. Hates to sleep on his back unless he is propped up in his swing or his carseat.
  • He still likes to be swaddled. Hopefully that will last a while. Mav hated it after about 2 months.
  • He is in size 1 diapers already.
  • His favorite food is still Mommy's Milk
  • He is focusing really well already. He will stare at me for the longest time and follow my head if I move it.
  • He does not take a pacifier very well...but we are getting better at it every day.
  • He spits up a good amount and I go through like 3 burp clothes a day. Mavrick spit up alot too...I guess its just my babies. They hold down formula better than my milk.
  • He breastfeeds like a champ though which has been nice.
  • He likes to read books with Mav and I.
  • He likes Tummy time and sometimes cuts it short and falls asleep on his stomach. Haha. =)

Mav was torturing him with my hair clippy.

Zoolander face again...
I love this little boy so much. I am trying to savor every moment of him being little cause Mav is growing up way to fast for me. I was thinking about it and I only have about 18 more years of living this little angel and only 16 left with Mavrick! Haha...I know. Its ridiculous as my husband tells me but I am a Mom. What can I say?! =)

Sweet moments with my Boys...

Just some sweet little momemts I have had with my boys the last couple of weeks.

Carter's first night to sleep at home in his bed.

First day of being a Mom of two and Mav was actually eating the food I gave him. A Miracle.
Just being sweet and sleeping.
Love my boys!

Very direct stare. Zoolander?!

My Sleeping Angel. This is how he likes to sleep. On his side.

Funny moment...I was breast feeding Carter and Mav was drinking his cup of milk before bed and so he came up on my bed and laid on my lap with his milk. So I had two boys drinking milk on me. Haha. =)

Awake time @ 1:30 am? Ok.

Mavrick was being so cute. For some reason he wanted to sit on out chair like this and was just jabbering away. It was a sweet moment for me and him. After I fed Carter I went and sat by him on the floor and rubbed his back and tried to keep up the conversation with him. It was pretty funny.
Gangster Pose

A Day at the Park with our friend Annabelle. =)
Aunt Kami was playing around and doing a photo shoot which obviously turned out crappy! Haha. =)

After she took a few pictures of Carter, Mav wanted her to take some of him so he laid down kinda how Carter was and started laughing. It was hilarious! =)
This boy has a natural mohawk! I don't even have to brush it that way after a shower.
My Boys! Mav being sweet and Carter looking scared...

So around 8:30 on Sunday mornings it seems like my entire family ends up in my bed. Mav will wake up around 7 and come climb into bed with us, which is about when Carter wants to eat so he ends up laying in the bed beside us too. I caught them touching each other. It was so sweet. =)
Big yawn...
I was taking a picture of Carter and Mavrick, once again wanted one taken of him...so he jumped in front.

This is Mavrick's "Oh Toodles!!" face when he watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I finally got it on camera.

And this little face is what makes it so hard to not let him sleep on my chest for EVERY nap. Look at those lips! =)
We love our little boys so much and are having a lot of fun with them. I wish I had a camera on me for every special LITTLE moment and I try but its hard. But I love the ones that I can catch. The last couple of weeks have been great. No Post-pardem or depression of any kind which has been awesome. I have been loving this "stay at home Mom of Two" way more than I thought I would.

Here's to more sweet little moments with my boys. =)

Utah Trip & Jessica's Wedding

So 16 days after Carter was born I took on the impossible and traveled alone with Mav (2 years old) and Carter (16 days old) on a plane to Utah for my Sister-in-Law, Jessica's Wedding. Ryan couldn't miss school so he followed up on Friday but me and the boys left on Wednesday. They allowed Kami to come back with me and help until we got on the plane. Mav fell asleep the whole way but before take off and boarding the plane he was freaking out!!! Kami had battle scars by the time she left the airport! Haha! =) I was so grateful for her help. Carter did great on the plane he was just wide awake for 3 hours! He has never been awake that long. We landed in Utah and my in-laws picked us up. It was so good to see everyone and it was there first time to see Carter so I am glad we went. We were pretty busy with wedding stuff the whole time and I was up with Carter during the night so I was pretty exhausted until Ryan got there. I didn't take a whole bunch of pictures either cause I just felt like I was running around like crazy the whole time being a single Mom for a couple of days. The wedding and temple ceremony turned out beautiful. Jessica did a great job with planning everything and looked beautiful and as happy as could be on her wedding day. I still don't know Dane very well since we were there for such a short time and so busy with everything but we will get to spend time with them at Christmas. They are super cute. Jeffrey, Ryan's youngest brother, left on his mission the following Wednesday too. So when I left to go home on Monday morning Ryan's flight did not leave until Monday night. He was able to spend the whole day with his family without us around. Which was really nice bonding time. They went up to the canyon went fishing. It is so beautiful up there this time of year. It makes me miss Utah. Here are the few pictures we did get after the wedding was over. Pretty much just pictures of the canyon and all of sleeping cause we were so tired. Haha. =)
He was making a funny face.

Uncle Jeff and Carter

American Fork Canyon. Isn't it beautiful! Corinn, Jeff, Ruth & Dennis (Ryan's Parents)

The Parentals

Jeff's pathetic little fish. Haha. =) He was apparently super excited about it though.

If he could, he would totally abandon society and do this all day long.

All in all the trip was way worth it. Not sure if I will ever travel that soon after having a baby again but we were glad we were able to be there to spend time with our family.
