Mavrick @ 14 Months Old.....

Yep. That's right. I have a 14 Month old. I know I say that it is weird every month but it is. He is growing up so fast. We seriously can't imagine life without out little rowdy busy boy. =)

A few things he is doing now days...

---He is weighing around 26 lbs and is about 30 in tall. Not sure what percentile he is.

---He can give his Mommy and Daddy head butts on Que.. =)

---With Mom he likes to do 1..2...3...head-butts and then a big kiss. Its a pretty good trick that we have going on.

---He is back to being picky with his food! UGH! It might be the worst part of motherhood...getting him to eat healthy and balanced meals. Lol. =)

---Ate with a fork for the first time...still working on it though. He got frustrated and resorted back to his hands.

---Has waved "Bye bye" twice that we know of.

---He goes to bed around 8:30 these days. I love it. =)

---But he is down to one nap a day now...=(

---He can throw balls like a pro now.

---Loves puppy dogs and animals. (he is his fathers child)

---When I am working at the computer and he wants my attention he will literally turn the chair and crawl up in my lap. Haha. I guess its kinda my cue that I need to stop work and play with him.

---He does this little thing we call his GROUND POUND. Its a really slow stomp he does when he walks around like he is slowly stopping something. Its hilarious!

---He is starting to point at things when he jabbers.

---Loves playing with other kids.

---He is sitting through sacrament a little better now days. When we have to take him out in the hallway we don't let him down to run around so he is starting to realize that sacrament is a little better than the foyer. Haha.

---When he gets upset at one of us he runs to one end of the house where he sits and bangs  his head against the wall. Its a pretty good tantrum. I think he is almost ready for timeouts. Lol. =)

---At one point he was obsessed with taking the shoes off the shelf and as I put them back on he would take them right back off.

---He loves playing hide and seek in our closet.

---Latley he has been doing what we call his "quick feet." He runs in place really fast. Lol. =)

---The other day he was so funny. Whenever we have a hard time putting him to bed we make him cry himself to sleep. But one night he was crying or like 20 min without batting an eye and then he got quiet. So Ryan went to go check on him and right when he opened his bedroom door he BOLTED out and all I hear is pitter patter of little feet and him running into our bedroom. We laughed so hard. It was the cutest thing ever. So I pulled him into our bed and he went to sleep almost immediately.

Here are some pictures of Mavrick being Mavrick at 14 months old.

We are at the McDonald's indoor play place here...

He loves apples.

These are a couple of pictures of him using a fork for the first time at Breakfast.

And this isjust because I have the sweetest baby when he sleeps. =) Love him. And yes...he is naked. He is not big on clothes and I do pretty good about making sure he has some on most of the time but sometimes I lose.

Friday night hang out with my Daddy....

So this week was nuts...I got in a wreck last week and so I have been trying to recover from that and endless conversations with insurance and toyota repair place...blah blah blah. Super boring and super annoying. I never understood why you pay for insurance each month and when you DO get in a wreck they try to make you pay MORE by jacking up your rate! Might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard...but they are not going to pull that one on me. I refuse. So dumb...i think they think I am naive just because I am a Young mother who doesn't work and just has time for shopping and wrecking cars but they could not be more wrong! I understand everything they are saying to me on the phone for the most part. So there!!! Ok...done with the "I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES" speech.

Mavrick got pretty sick the day after too. At one point he had a 104* fever! We were freaking out but it was not there for long and it went down after a few minutes while we dabbed him with a cold rag. His fevers always get high at night. But I took him to the doctor and they gave him an antibiotic for what they thought was a little virus. He hated that medicine...he would not drink it for anything. It took Ryan prying open his mouth while I shot in the dropper full of medicine. My poor baby was so upset. But after the 3rd day he was back to his normal crazy busy Mavrick self.

Also...Youth Conference was this week...hence why I am home alone without my husband on a Friday night. He had to go up tonight and spend the night to bring the boys home in the morning. But it was not all bad...my Dad got to come over and we ate some Tostadas and watch National Treasure. It was fun and good to have me some "Daddy Daughter" time. Here are some entertaining pictures from tonights Movie Night...with Mavrick as the entertainment of course.

Ok...funny story behind this picture.
Mavrick does this thing where he throws his head back almost like he howling and makes a really soft "ooooooooooh" noise. Its hilarious. I need to record it. If we do it he will copy us. So this picture is kinda blury but I caught him doing it. Lol. =)

He loved crawling under Grandpa's legs while we watched the movie.

Attention!!!
These next two pictures might be the best pictures I have of me and my son ever.
Finally he looks at the camera!

I can't get enough of those eyes!
Don't you just love those cheeks! And if you are wondering what the scrape on my lip is where there is a little blood I can explain. Every since Mav was 3 months old when he goes to sleep he likes to play with mine and Ryan's lips and mouths as he falls asleep. Sometimes he can get a little violent. Lol. =)
His new thing is climbing so our chairs have to be away from the table at all times. Here he is looking at the table thinking "I can make that!" and yes he did try and yes he did make it. Haha. Smart mischievous little kid!

So that is about it. Mavrick turns 14 months on Sunday. So weird. I might actually get to go to church this Sunday too. Haha. =) I have been sewing a little bit more lately and I am in a make my own clothes kick. I dislike how express is so expensive...so I will have to take some pictures of a few knock of versions that I have done and show them to you. Next time. =)

4th of July and Schlitterbahn Weekend

So I have not written in a while. This last week was pretty busy. We had 4th of July which was not very eventful since we could not pop fireworks because of a stupid burn ban. BOOO! I think that is the first year EVER we have not been able to do that down here. Oh well. Better luck next year. Ryan had finals this past week so he had to study a lot and Mavrick and I ended up playing around the house and cleaning. Later that evening we went over to swim at our friends the Moore's. We had a blast over there as usual. Mavrick kept waling off into the deep end! UGH! He just won't stop trying to kill himself!!!! I also got bit by a horsefly. NOT HAPPY! I would rather get a bee sting than a horsefly. But better me than Ryan...he probably would have gone into anaphylactic shock. He and the bugs don't get along. Haha.

Mavrick Splashing

4th of July 2011... He rocks the blue so well! =)

Little Liam looking like a stud in his sunglasses. Haha. He was so cute! I think I caught him right as he was choking on water in this one...
The rest of the week we kept busy getting ready for Schlitterbahn in San Antonio. Most of my family was going so we took the opportunity to. Its so hard to get everyone together after you get married. I don't know why! Haha. But it makes it that much more special when you do get together I guess. Anyway...I have had a few Design jobs keeping me busy too. Which is nice..but it is hard to find time in the day to work on them. Mavrick only sleep s like 2 hours MAX and that is it. So they take me about 3-4 days total to finish. But I am getting faster. I really enjoy it. I love that I can do it from home too. This week I designed a Permanant Makeup/Mini Spa building. It was a pretty small building but a fun project. Mavrick and I have been starting this "Mommy School" thing.  So far he is not too cooperative but he will get there. I am hitting it pretty hard this week though. This weeks is "A is for Apples"  and so I have some fun activities planned. I got the idea from this blog called Oopsey Daisy. She is a genius and it gives me activities to do with Mav. Cause lets be honest...there are only so many thing you can come up with when you are stuck at home all day so I have to research stuff. Haha. =) But she pretty much lays everything out for you. I just take what I want from it and plan it out for the week and go from there. At other point during the day this is what Mav does...

I covered the diaper boxes with left over fabric that I used in his room so that I could store all the balls and blocks in them and he decided that he would destroy them and get in. Haha. Oh well...

WE also got to hang out with Brittany, Travis and Annabelle Tolman while they were in town. We miss them. But the babies are so fun to see interact. Haha. Annabelle is a tough little girl so she can usually take most whatever Mavrick can dish out...

Mosquito Bites...thanks Ryan! They look so bad...like cigarette burns! I am sure people see them and think I am a bad Mom!

Brittany, Mavrick and Annabelle! Annabelle is such a poser! I love it. Mavrick is NOT!!!!

Wednesday it poured! I mean it almost flooded. But I got to take the Young Women to see the movie Monte Carlo in theaters. It was such a cute little movie. Kinda reminded me of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Kinda Cheesy and predictable but a good movie to take the girls too. Friday we packed, I had a meeting with a client, Ryan had work, packed some more, cleaned the house, packed some more and then we left for San Antonio! Yahoo!!! Our trip there was ok. I just dislike traveling during the day. Mavrick was so cute when he woke up from his nap though. I would blow bubbles to him in the back.

Big Blue Eyes

Classic Mavrick Smile and you can see his teeth! =)

We stopped in Katy at a Super Walmart to get some food for MAv and some snacks. This is probably his 3rd time to McDonalds but you would have thought it was his first. He was scarfing down those chicken nuggets and fries like they were going out of style!

I am thinking about sending this one into McDonalds to put on their Kids meals! haha.
So after a 4 1/2 hour drive we finally got to the WorldMark there in San Antonio. I love this place. It is so nice! Everyone really enjoyed the stay. Except the babies did not sleep well either nights!! Mavrick got up 3 times and would NOT go back to bed. Just whine and whine. We finally just stuck him in the car and drove around till he fell asleep. Needless to say we were super tired int he morning.

Mav's new thing is getting into baskets so he thought the fish on the table might be cool. Haha. We took a picture instead of getting him down like good parents. =)

Me and Mr. Liam...he was so wired that night! haha.

The next morning we went to Schlitterbahn. Johnny and Amy went to the temple early in the morning so we watched Liam and took him with us to Schlitterbahn. It was tough with two babies. Not that they were bad they just can't really do anything except play in the splash pad area. The whole first 3 hours consisted of watching the babies. We decided that we are not going to theme parks anymore until the kids are older and it is off season or just without the babies. There were SOOOOOO many people there! Some of the rides had a 3 hour wait. It is just ridiculous. After Johnny and Amy got there we took Mav into the wav pool and he was so tired that he fell asleep while I was holding him in the pool. We took him back to Mom and Dad's room to take and nap and Dad watched the babies. Thank heavens. While he watched them we all went and did the stuff we wanted to. We got to ride two rides and the lazy rivers. So we felt a little better about not wasting money. It was a long but fun day. =)

Little Liam...Johnny and Amy ordered this suit off a website and they didn't know that it had pink on it. Haha. =)

Mavrick loved this little area to play in.

I think I did this slide 30 times. Haha....

He crawled up into this space and thought he was so big. Haha. HERE is a video of him playing in this castle thing...

Daddy and Mavrick...

Mavrick was so tired the next day that this is how he fell asleep....Haha!
All in all it was a good weekend. We packed up on Sunday and headed home. We stopped at Kade and Jennacy's place for lunch and hung out with them for a little bit. We didn't get to float the river cause Mavrick had water in his ears so we didn't want to make it worse. It is always nice to come home though. We all sleep much better here...especially Mav. =)
