Galveston Trip with Grandma LeBaron

So I am playing a little catch-up from the last month's festivities. 

Ryan's Mom came doen to visit. We had a ton of fun! The Friday she was here we headed to Galveston Texas which is right off the Texas Shore in the Gulf. Its only about an hour and a half away. But its a fun little town to go to for the day. When you are going down there you can see left over destruction from the Hurricane's and New Construction going up everywhere. WE even saw trailors that were up on stilts about 50 feet up in the air. It was so funny. But here are some pictures.

You have to take a Ferry to get to Galveston Island so they all got to experience it for the first time. Ryan and Mavrick really enjoyed it. Mavrick was soaking everything up. Haha.

I didn't even plan to have him in his little Sailor Romper but it turned out perfect! Haha. Very appropriate attire for the day. {i just love his eyes!}

You can get out of your cars while the ferry is going and walk around the ferry and to the back of the boat. So we let him down and he went nuts running everywhere!

Ryan fed the Sea Gulls. He didn't realize how close they were to him. Haha. =)

Grandma on Mavrick duty...

I can see him being a beach lover! He absolutely loved it! But he kept putting the dumb sea shells in his mouth! I can't wait till he is over that stage.

Must take picture when at the beach. =) Haha.

Water Bottle bath!

The strip was so much fun. It has super old architecture and  just a really fun laid back atmosphere. We had to go get the best root beer floats ever. I had been going to that shop forever but had a hard time finding it cause they kinda changed everything up after the hurricanes. But we found it...

It was the cutest little candy shop!

They had all the old time-y candies that out parents use to eat. Haha. Just kidding.

And the FUDGE was the best part!

Mav was hilarious trying to get to the candy behind the glass.

So needless to say it was a pretty good day. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get home for our sun oven dinner that we made. It was super good too. =) I love having Galveston close by...it is an inexpensive trip and a good place to take the Family. 

That is one thing I am so grateful for...family trips. Some of my fondest memories are the ones that we took as kids with my parents and now we get to make our own kind of memories with our kids. Very Fun. =)
